Air trapped in fan coil unit chilled water loops following building central plant maintenance, causing persistent gurgling pipe noise, inadequate chilled water flow, and insufficient cooling across bedrooms.
Executed Scope:
High-point air venting and hydraulic line purging, inline Y-strainer disassembly and scale cleaning, replacement of closed-cell elastomeric Armaflex pipe insulation with vapor barrier tape, dynamic hydronic balancing to meet 1.8 m³/h design flow, and supply air temperature verification.
Equipment & Materials:
Class 0 Armaflex pipe insulation (19mm wall), reinforced aluminum vapor barrier tape, 1" Y-strainer stainless steel mesh filter, brass manual bleed air vent valves.
